1 Introduction and Scope

This Backup Policy defines the practices and responsibilities regarding data backups for all services provided by Nolimithostinger. Understanding this policy is crucial for protecting your data.

2 Automatic Backups

Nolimithostinger performs automatic backups as a courtesy service. These backups include:

  • Daily backups: System backups performed every 24 hours
  • Weekly backups: Full environment backups performed weekly
  • Monthly archives: Long-term retention backups
  • Database dumps: Automated MySQL/PostgreSQL backups where applicable

Automatic backups are retained for a period of 30 days, after which they may be permanently deleted.

The client is fully and solely responsible for their own backups. This includes:

  • Regular manual backups: Creating and maintaining your own backup copies
  • Backup verification: Regularly testing backups to ensure data integrity
  • Critical data: Ensuring all important data is backed up externally
  • Database backups: Maintaining separate database backups
  • Configuration files: Backing up all custom configurations
  • Email data: Preserving important emails and attachments

4 Backup Limitations

Our automatic backup service has the following limitations:

  • Backups are created on a best-effort basis
  • No guarantee of successful backup completion
  • Backups may not include all files or databases
  • Large files (>500MB) may be excluded
  • Temporary files and caches are not backed up
  • Email accounts may have separate backup policies

CRITICAL: Nolimithostinger cannot be held liable for any partial or total data loss, regardless of the cause. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Hardware failures
  • Software corruption
  • Human errors
  • Malware or hacking incidents
  • Natural disasters
  • Third-party service failures
  • Accidental deletions
  • Failed backup restorations

6 Backup Frequency by Service

Different services have different backup frequencies:

7 Backup Restoration

Restoration of backups is subject to the following conditions:

  • Fee-based service: Backup restoration may incur additional charges
  • Best effort: Restoration attempts are made on a best-effort basis
  • Timeframe: Restoration may take up to 48 hours
  • No guarantee: Successful restoration is not guaranteed
  • Partial restoration: Only complete backups can be restored

9 Backup Exclusions

The following items are explicitly excluded from automatic backups:

  • Temporary files and cache directories
  • Log files larger than 100MB
  • Backup files created by scripts
  • Files in trash/recycle bins
  • Files exceeding size limits
  • Email messages marked as spam
  • Files with suspicious content

10 Additional Backup Options

We offer paid backup solutions for enhanced protection:

  • Premium Backup: Daily backups with 60-day retention (+$5/month)
  • Enterprise Backup: Hourly backups with 90-day retention (+$15/month)
  • Offsite Backup: Geographic redundancy (+$10/month)
  • On-demand Backup: Manual backup service ($25 per restore)

11 Force Majeure

Nolimithostinger shall not be liable for any failure to perform backup obligations due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters
  • War or civil unrest
  • Terrorist attacks
  • Government actions
  • Power outages
  • Network failures
  • Cyber attacks
